:+ I have a 64 GMC that I just got- not bad for the age, came out of farm country with 79,000 miles has the 305v6, air and a transplanted cruise control.Currently has the sm420 trans but picked up a regular 4 speed to put in not sure if the GM A833 trans would hold up in this or cost. Going to try and install a 520 cfm Holley 4 bbl to it, already has to 2300 conversion but I figure the 4 bbl vac secondary will give me better response off the line and I'll only use as much of the secondaries as the motor can draw open . Some day if this motor blows up I will switch to a SBC motor much easier.

Much lighter too, the 305v6 is a good grunt motor but it had very poor gas mileage but awsome torque, it's hard to find parts for but for information on it go to this site, you;ll enjoy it...www.6066gmctrucks.org.

Yea, I belong to that group too, but they seem to want to keep their trucks heavy duty- but they do have alot of good advice.
