    Hello everyone,
My name is Tim and I have a couple of projects (1950 3600 and 1952 3100) going right now and I'm confused about front wheel bearings.

On the '50 3600 I am swapping in an extra front axle from a '53 3100 series. This axle already has 1954 car 5 lug hubs on it.

Now is where the confusion comes in to play. I am wanting 6 lug on the 3600 and have access to 58/59 chevy 6 lug truck hubs and differentials. When I was checking for tapered bearing kits from our host they split the years up like '41-'57 and '58-'59 and upon checking other retailers for the kits they are listing '47-'59 and '49-'59 depending on inner or outer.....

Does anyone know if I can use the '58-'59 6 lug hubs on my '53 3100 spindles? If I can, which bearings would I order?

Sorry, I converted to the five-lug rotors from a Camero so I could have front disc brakes. I don't know any part numbers for six-lug bearings.

Hey Dawg~ I've been on this site quite a while, and I must admit your question seems to be original.
There's been m-a-n-y questions about front wheel bearings/combinations, but I can't remember a question like yours.
Have you done an advanced search on this site for "wheel bearings"? Maybe someone before I joined has done this and posted info.
    Good luck!

GMC Master Parts Book shows the same part numbers for front wheel hubs, inner and outer bearings on all 1/2 ton axles (NOT 4 wheel drive) in 1952, 53 and 55.2 through 59. I don't have 1954-55.1 documentation, but I'd bet Kook's life that they are also the same.

For some reason the grease seal number changes between the early and later trucks, but a National 6064 fits both hubs.

I have personally used a '52 Chevy 1/2 ton hub on my '57 GMC.

    Hope this helps.

Now for a little self-promotion: I'm going through my spares and have found something you might want.

I have an unopened set of 1/2 ton roller bearings and seals from our host that I'd let go for $75 + shipping Current price at our host is $120. Or if you'd prefer, I have an unused set of ball bearings for the same truck at $85 + shipping ($162 at our host). I'll add a set of National 6064 seals for another $5 ($14 at our host). Offer good to Tim only until noon 12/12/2013, then anyone else who asks. Sign up starting now.

Thank you Bill, but as luck has it a buddy of mine just sold me all the leftovers (frame/ suspension and everything but the cab and front clip) from a 1952 3100 he's sitting on a "mudder" outfit (crindge). It even has an extra set of hubs that were in the bed.
