Both my rear lower shock mounting brackets have a crack. Would you recommend just getting them welded or find new mounts. I didn't see them listed on Chevy Duty. Any idea where to find them?

Both the right and left piece have about a 1 inch long crack by one of the u-bolt to trailing arm mounting holes. I've heard heating some auto frame metals (by welding) can weaken them.

I think I'd be more comfortable finding a pair vs. welding. Thanks Jeremy.

I found someone that has a pair of brackets, but they want $80. Seems kind of high to me. What do you think?

There is a company that makes a rebuild kit for the entire rear end of your truck. I think it is CPP. They always have an add in Classic Trucks magazine.

I posted a bunch of requests all over the internet and found someone that had the mounts. Thanks for the info. I still want to keep that person in mind for other items.
