i just recently changed my straight six for a smallblock and i want a 3 row radiator. will i have to make any modifications for it to fit?
The radiator for the 6 should already be a three core. Did you mean that you want to switch to a 4 core ? DVal
i am pretty sure that it isn't a three core....it is very small and i am gonna definetly need one bigger for the v8. i just don't want to have to modify anything if i can get around it.
Did you look into the Radiator Cap Hole & count how many row's you have? My 63' had a 6 Cyc. & has a 2 Core Radiator, in my 65', it came with a 292 6 Cyc. & it has a 3 Core Radiator...if you have a good water flow, good thermostat, 50/50 water & anti freeze & a fan shroud...you shouldn't have a problem, unless, your gonna have a Beefed Up Motor! Then I'd go with a 4 core with an ele. fan back up! "SKULL" "Let's Wake The Dead"
I have a 3 row in my suburban with a 325hp 350 and it runs at 180 degress, 190 idling around town in 90 degree heat. I even only have a flex fan on it, just make sure you have a good shroud.
