does a conversion kit come with everything you need? and how hard is it to install? i was wandering if it was a do it yourself project.

Disk brake conversion kits vary in quality and completness. If you have a modest set of tools in the garage MOST are easily done by the hobbiest.

I used the kit from Early Classic Ent a few years ago and it was a 8 hour job in my garage. That is a VERY complete kit with a customer service ethic that is unmatched in any industry.

For the best results, start with a front end rebuild that includes ball joints, springs, idler arm and outter tie rod ends.
If you have never worked on front suspension stuff before, pick up the Factory Service Manual from our hosts here at Chevy Duty and do some reading. There are safety issues that you need to be aware of when taking the front springs out.
