Hello - I want to start by thanking everyone on the forum for providing such great info over the years as I struggle to rebuild my '51 3/4 ton to it's original stock condition. I am a frequent visitor to the forum but never have much to contribute... sort of like that annoying neighbor who only comes over when he needs to borrow your tools - My question is this: I am painting the interior (with the original semi-flat brownish color) and was wondering what to do with the glove box door and the ash-tray/speaker panel. They are currently bare stainless steel, but from the pictures I have seen, it seems as if they should be painted (at least the ridges). Is it the same color as the rest of the interior, or is it a different color? Any information appreciated - Ed
Ed, the glove box and speaker grille were two toned in the "champagne and silver" scheme. Hope this helps! Ken
The interior paint is "Sheen Grey Metallic" I found it at Jim Carter's...perfect match. The valleys of the dash pieces are also this color. The ridges and the steering column are a grey- brown, I also found with Jim Carter. You can order new pieces that are already painted. Look through my " How to assemble an Ad" thread at the top of the page, I show this.
