3600 hood on a 3100

    A quick question for the guru's... Is a 3600 hood the same as a 3100.?:confused:

    Yes.A 3600 is a 3/4 ton. They all use the same sheetmetal up unitl the 1 1/2 tons, I believe.

    Thanks for the confirmation. I thoght I had read that somewhere but wasn't sure. Now I can make an informed decision. That's a new one for me:D

    Watch out!

    I have seen and talked to a couple of people trying to pass off the front clip body parts from a 1 1/2+ as fitting one of our 3100. So, watch out and know what you are looking at...there recently(or maybe still is) some parts near here that they "kinda" claim they do not know, but you can try them after you pay up. I have seen some claim not to know very much about them, but are sure trying to get rid of them...really fast...fender is bigger with wider opening...hood not as high and curve coming off of cowl is cut off. There are others here that are experts at the differences...and if you need a repair piece, it might be worth it, but is not "plug and play" stuff.

    Is the engine compartment larger on the over 1 ton trucks?

    Passed on the Hood

    DZ, Thanks for the advertisement / clarification.

    I had to pass on the parts / hood as it was a rust out. Florida isn't kind to the old metal!!!:D
