My Hat's Off To The Folks That Programmed This Forum

I've used Photobucket as a hosting site for years. Prior to that I used Webshots... they changed their rules to not allow sharing and thus I had to re-do all my build threads due to broken photo links. Well now Photobucket is blackmailing it's paying customers, stating that it will now cost...

what is this wire? 1965 Chevy C10 blinker

That is indeed just a ground wire Woog. My grandfather had a '72 C20. I added ground wires, circa early 1980's, just like that from the battery ground to the head light and tail light housings. he was having all sort of weird things happen... like he would turn on the turn signal and all...

    Different LS approach

Nope.. It's just a matter of changing pulleys. They sound a lot better... when they are spinning faster. :)

    Problem solved

    Nicely done Evan.

    Different LS approach

Interesting concept. For a driver, non-show truck, that makes sense. The more stock components, the better. LS motors in classic pickup trucks always look like the motor is sinking into quicksand.... IMO. Where's the tunnel ram and the dual four's ;-) John

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

You done good Steve. A stock firewall, that has been tastefully cleaned up just looks "right" IMO on this era truck. Your reward for the amount of work that you've done is a firewall that "looks like it was always meant to be". I am envious of your paint and body skills.... I'm a hack. John

Did you ever get your steering column parts?

Need a stock steering column for a 66 C10 (floor shift) truck

Well, that sucks. I didn't have any issues at all with him. Let me know how this turns out. I'll stop recommending him until I hear back from you. _____ John

    Not proud of this one

That engine swap may be a good thing... a very good thing. If the 455 was a matching numbers component of the original car, swapping in the other motor makes sense if the car is driven much. The owner can thrash the hell out of the LS motor without fear of breaking something that makes the car...

Amen to that Steve. That Catalina sounds like an awesome ride.

    Pontiac Trans Am...

Agreed on the way cool Pontiacs. My FIL is a big Pontiac fan. My wife learned to drive in a '67 Catalina convertible.. her first car..... land yacht. We saw a 1961 bubble top Catalina at a car show in 2015... may be the coolest car ever made in that era. As for Obama.. he didn't know it was...

    1963 - 1966 Chevrolet Grill Letters

I like it. and... agreed, lose the Colorado letters and the V6 emblem. Only a few folks will know the era of the letters... and even fewer that the letters are larger and that the overall length is wider. “E Aho Laula" _____ John

    1963 - 1966 Chevrolet Grill Letters

I was able to help Dan. He's putting '47-53 style tailgate letters on his new Chevy Colorado. I re-sized the letters so they would be 43" wide.. a better fit for the Colorado's larger tailgate. If he's ok with it, I'll post some photo's when he gets the local sign guy to produce the...

    Steering column swap

Contact Tony Smith... 1960 to 1966 Chevy Truck New and Used Parts, Restoration Projects Be sure to inspect the steering column shaft on whatever you end up using. These trucks are notorious for wiped out lower bearings leading to severe steering shaft gouges. Good luck!

Hats off to you snow birds

Indeed Evan, Indeed. I grew up in Ohio. My dad bought a '72 C20, hugger orange and white, new from the local farm town Chevy dealer. I was just coming of age and that was the first vehicle I was around that was new, and daily driven. Dad drove about 30 miles one way to work, mostly on state...

    Pontiac Trans Am...

Nice.. Thanks for posting this Steve. Only thing that looks odd, IMHO, are the tires. They need to be larger in diameter and have more sidewall. I still can't believe Pontiac's are orphan cars. Some of the coolest cars ever made were poncho's. _____ John
