Needed: A clean pair of shorts

Glad you made it through this adventure unscathed. I still haven't gotten over the photo's you posted of the demise of your last truck! I'm wondering, since tubeless is the norm now, if they make all tires tubeless... even the ones they market as "tube tires"? Might be an interesting...

Remembering the birth of my garage...

Zig.. The wife and I just love old houses too. The craftsmanship is mind boggling. The windows in your shop, that's slick. Let's in a bunch of light no doubt.I so much prefer natural lighting, the new LED's are great, but not as good as the real thing. Happy Trails... ____ John

    1947 - 1953 Tailgate Script

That would be awesome. Based on my research however an up-loadable font style(s) that is technically correct for the tailgates on these vintage Chevy / GMC trucks is "unobtanium". You have to remember there weren't computers back then creating these... it was a detailer on a drafting board...

That all depends on the bolt and it's intended use. If you are comparing a Home Depot 18-8 stainless hex head bolt to an ARP 12 point stainless bolt that is like comparing 2 old Chevy vette's.. then finding one is a '77 Chevette and the other a '63 split window. ______ John

I'd be surprised if you could get a turn key, just finished with your choices, restomodded AD for under $60K. It's truly amazing how much all the little pieces parts cost. I never got a single nibble of interest from anybody here in the states when I sold my '65 C10... A guy in New Zealand...

    Gas Fumes Paint Stripper

Ugh... that sucks. Fuel expansion is typically the issue. The gas is cool when it is pumped out of the ground, once in the tank it warms up and then overflows via the vent on the cap. You can add an overflow tube to the filler neck and install a non vented cap to correct this. More on that...

Thanks Steve. I gave the mower deck to my neighbor when we moved up into the mountains. I have a snow blade.. but don't need it. I have a snowblower, but haven't used it for over a year. What I do now is engage the 4 wheel drive... and drive. If the snow is too deep, I stay home, by the...

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

Wow, on all counts. Street Rods are so main stream I gave up on car shows and nationals about 20 years ago... and prices have seemed to followed the theme of the high dollar builders. Back when I built my 2 old Ford Hot Rods prices were just starting to get crazy. That being said, Walker...

Steve... with your fab. skills I am sure you can adapt a Lokar emergency brake to your truck. I used their vertical style brake on my '27 Ford RPU, and adapted it to the '85 Ford 4-speed. Once you have the brake kit making brackets isn't all that difficult.
