    Lakeroadster's High Country Barn

Thanks Steve. The original GC checked out before fulfilling the contract which cost us an additional $6 grand over budget. The GC basically low balled the concrete and driveway to get the job, then backed out when those tasks were at hand. Whatever, we were/are glad to be done with him...

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

    Not into patina

I think Andy nailed it. Some of the allure of patina, real or fake, is lack of maintenance and never dealing with door dings / road rash from the barbarian hoard. It's pretty liberating. Put me down Evan as one fella that would love to see some photo's of the '69 project. _____ John

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

I thought about ya when we were behind some of the truckers who have to drive 10 mph slower than the cars. What's up with that ignorant law? The wife and I are "Get there and get home" travelers. And as we get older, that seems to be even more true. Maybe catch ya next year, we do the...

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

We traveled back to the Dayton Ohio area recently. The radio station there I listened to in the late 1970's, WTUE 104.7, is still playing basically the same music as they did in the late 1970's. Amazing! Steve... I bet you'd like The Traveling Wilbury's..

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

Looking good Steve. As for the battery cover... WTH? The re-pop folks really missed the mark. IF the modification is as simple as changing the radii on the outside corners I'd be inclined to modify. If it involves changing the embossed areas, I'd throw down the $60. As for ground...

    Lakeroadster's High Country Barn

Well.... thanks for the offer. Our focus now will be renovating (ourselves!) the attached garage, the barn interior done, some vents in the roof and a list of other items that are awaiting the barn completion. I did see an awesome '58 at the dirt drags yesterday though ;-).. Our lives have...

    Box the frame or not

What are you planning to use for motor mounts? Attached to the crossmember or the frame? That may drive the decision as to if you will box the frame.

What is this where my glovebox should be?

    Lakeroadster's High Country Barn

First week of June 2016 The 7 day concrete test sample result reflected a compressive strength of 3,640 PSI. 3.640 psi = 91% of the specified 4,000 psi minimum requirement for the slab. "Concrete", by Mindness and Young, gives a general rule: The ratio of 28-day to 7-day strength lies between...
