54 truck 3 spd. lost my third gear, grinds trying to go in. i guess maybe the syncronizer went out. so trying to find another, question is going to do the clutch, pressure plate, t/o bearing and ujoint anything thoughts or suggestions of what else while trans is out?

is there supposed to be some sort of insulator (washer) beneath the horn contact assembly. my horn would sometimes stick, so i took the button off and removed the assy. to clean up and check things. there were some remains of some sort of washer beneath it . shop manual and assy. manual do not...

trying to put new tires on, have original wheels. need to know if i can put tubeless tires with a different valve stem setup on these wheels , has anyone done it? new tube tires have gotten crazy on prices mostly all supplies come from Coker tires only. LT215/85R16 ? correct ?:confused:

54 truck, want to do front wheel bearings, tried loosening the pads but drums dont come off also tried hitting wit BFH. do i remove hub as per shop manual? also want to replace ext. trim around door glass, appears to be clipped at top ,does this just pop off or do i pull out torch and adult...

ok Zig and other foo foo can masters, getting closer to painting the outside of truck. is it necessary to use etching primer if bare metal or regular primer? top the etch primer with fill primer , primer , primer sealer or what? and what kind of life expetancy? from rustoleum or Duplicolor...

i want to paint dash but cant remove the choke and throttle knobs. what is the trick ? or do i just sand around them and mask to paint?

the engine was replaced prior to getting this truck. i believe it is a 230 casting # is 3994257 can't find info on it. what are tuneup specs for this points plugs etc cant find timing marks. had to do it by ear not so bad but want to be more accurate. i have listened and looked here for months...

newbie here . sorry no photos yet . need my daughter to show me how . have 54 3100 with 12 v conversion just installed new gas gauge . should i remove the resistor from ign to gauge ? do posts on back of gauge require insulators when mounted ? thanks
