GM did not offer 4WD as an option in 1954 but, there were several aftermarket companies that offered 4WD conversions in the 3/4 ton & up trucks.
I already fixed Bruce up with an original 3 speed for $150 but, he may also want to buy yours {minus the U joint & collar} as a spare.
