looking glass for my 54, and what to do with steering box

Tinted Glass Be sure you get tinted glass. You may decide to put in a lot of time and money into it. Or you may decide to sell it after SWMBO decides it has to go. Clear glass turns some people off who may want to buy it.

How much cab insulation needed ?

Spray Foam Has anyone tried the spray cans of foam from the building supply stores. I am thinking of filling cavaties between sheetmetal on a old ford truck. I put in inside on the door skins. They now make a thud instead of a tink when you tap the outside. I plan to let it sit in the shop for...

    1954 chevy brake trouble

Brake adjuster I remember >40-yrs ago, that you have to run the adjuster all the way in, First. After you get it back on adjust it back up to where you can feel drag when you turn the wheel. A few trys and you will be able to tell how much more tight you need to keep it from pulling to the...

    Leaking Carborator on 52 3100

Rodchester B The Rodchester B comes in 2 sizes. the smaller is for the 216-ci and the larger for the 235-ci. The ones found on car usually have automatic choke. The parts kit you find may have gaskets for both. I would get the glass bowl fuel filter and mount it in front of the carb. That way...

    vendor bashing?

I try to buy parts from here, BUT if we look at the help DeadZoneTrucking gave by cutting the skin off of a door to show the insides, we would do well to consider him what ever the cost. Lifes tough, espically on a bad day!

    Happy New Year

doors I just did this on a truck. I cleaned the inside (inner door where you can cut yourself) and sprayed foam inside. The difference in sound is very noticeable. Sounds more like plywood than metal. If I ever do this again I will go to building supply and get some 1/2 foam board and press it...

    216 upgrade ?

engine upgrade You have the engine out. Go get a 261-ci engine and you will never regret it. You will also have to change the oil pressurre gauge to the 60-psi gauge. Put on the offy valve cover and most will think you have the 216. If you fix the 216 and then get to drive a 261 you will feel...

power brake update in a 46 1/2 ton

You have the soft copper to make the bends. I think it will not handle high pressure like the steel lines. I may be mistaken but I remember in school that copper was not compatible with hydraulic/brake fluid. I can't remember the reason, chemical reaction or something else. Get some nice shinny...

1952 Chevy in Clinton, MO from ebay

Auction Truck Ifin it were me I would offer $6500. If I had the chance to look it over I would offer more. Dont get in a hurry because I expect it will be relisted. Anyone trying to make it look better 'cheap' will want more than he will get. You could buy this truck and spend $20,000 on it and...

    Vendors for interior parts

The original card board door panels did not last long unless they were taken care of. I think windows would be left down in a big rain. A few big rains made them look like termites were working where you push open the door with the elbow. Our first 53 still had the original cardboard headlinner...

Advice and pictures needed to install the Hurst shifter unit and the 3 levers

Saganaw 4-spd i took the same Saganaw and put it in a 57 chevy. Bought a Hurst 4-speed shifter from a junk yard for 15$ I had a welder/mechanic cut a piece of angle iron ~ 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" to where the tailshaft attaches. This made it short enough to have a bench seat. The guy cut and bent the...

    old rusty jeeps

Did anyone see the auction of Roy Rodgers' property? Nellie Bell sold for $116,500 and Roy did not drive it; Pat did and it was broke down a lot. I am sure that AD lovers love Roy Rodgers and the good example he set for us. If you get the chance listen to Rex Allen Jr's song "The Last of the...

Fuel injection for my 54 235

6 injectors Wonder if you could screw 6 injectors into the manifold and let the TBI control the air flow? The new cars have injectors close to the valves/heads. It seems to work by magic, smoke & mirrows.
