    Flywheel bolt safety locks

I think there was a different style with hydra-matic as well. Definitely a need to seal the threads well.

    Which series

Yep! Nate you have no idea how much I wrestled with myself calling into question your statement. I am a fan of your "been there, done that" knowledge.

    Which series

54 and 55 1st have one piece windshield.

    Which series

The series is in the case of a model year being split with two designs in the same year. 55 1st series used the 54 body style with an emblem change and an open driveline. 55 2nd series was the later more squared off body design. Your 54 is not a split year but the visor I believe is 54 and 55...

Welding firewall holes before finishing rewiring, Advice?

They had me weld in washers that just fit the hole and then weld the small hole up when done.

    1954 Chevy Truck windshield height

My windshield that is out of the truck right now is safely stashed in a storage building behind fenders, hood, and a ton of other stuff waiting to be a truck again. I managed to get back to it and it appears to be 15 1/2" high. As mentioned, it was in the truck for years and has been removed to...

Best source for replacement rubber floor mat?

I have been told that Jim Carter has the only one that doesn't already have the clutch hole punched out to use with your hydra-matic but do not know this to be true. I have not yet bought one myself. I think they are perforated but not punched.

    Speedometer cable to Hydramatic Transmission

The 3 speed speedometer cable would be long enough for H-M.

    Speedometer cable to Hydramatic Transmission

The cable should be the same. There is a screw in gear/cable drive assembly in the tailhousing of the transmission. They show up on ebay regularly. Is that the question you were asking? This one is for a 3/4 ton truck but it gives you an idea of what you are looking for...

I installed my cab over the weekend (and now my poor back!)

So does it have fenders on it yet? I find myself checking back constantly for new pictures.

I installed my cab over the weekend (and now my poor back!)

I had my original paint scanned and have a new paint chip that looks even better to be scanned so I think I am OK. I was just curious if you had found a published paint formula. You can find paint codes on several of the paint web sites but that doesn't mean that you can get it mixed in modern...

Where did you get your transport blue paint formula? I was going to have them scan an original paint chip.

    My cab got painted today

Thanks for the pictures. My 54 is transport blue with bombay ivory top. It is nice to get a chance to see what it looks like in fresh paint. Keep the pictures coming.

1954 Chevy Hydramatic Transmission Truck Missing Parts

Did not know about the linkage. The shift housing is the same but the lens is different due to gear markings. The Neutral switch bracket is similar but has different detent positions.
