    1951 Parking Brake doesn’t hold

You need to remove the rear brake drums and see what's what . Being a '51 it should have the vastly improved BENDIX brakes that parts are readily available for and dirt cheap as these brakes were used up through the 1967 model year . Quite often there's simply decades of accumulated oil and...

    Wind Turbulance

The windlace may not be proper;y installed, it was designed specifically to touch the edge of the door, that's how it eliminates drafts .

    Wind Turbulance

There's an oft missing rubber "windlace" trim that helps a great deal with this . The body jigs on these when new were rarely properly aligned. why once the door is adjusted to close properly the body's lines no longer match up correctly . Your best bet is to remove the headliner and door...

    216 Chevrolet engine

Yep ; GM really hit it's stride in those years . I know a guy in Kansas who runs a junkyard, one of the few parts he sells are good running 261's salvaged from old farm grain bed big Chevrolets . A work buddy drove his Advance Design pickup to and from work for many years with a rod knock in...

    1947 '216' engine for sale

SAD to hear it'll get scrapped, these are crude yes but so solid and reliable, they made and sold millions upon millions of them and places like Cuba, Georgia etc. (not to mention Los Angeles) still have plenty doing yeoman duty .

    216 Chevrolet engine

That one doesn't look as sludgy and all the ones I remember from the 60's & 70's . If it's original the pistons will be cast iron (!) and never wear out . I concur, a 235 / 261 is a sturdier and more powerful engine, not prone to throwing rods like the earlier " Target Lubrication" 216's &...

I’m looking for any tips or advice on my 1951 Chevy 6500

The throttle cable connects by a 'barrel clamp', I'm sure Chevy Duty here has a picture of in in the parts page . I hope you've done the valve adjust and points service before trying to make it run .

    Fuel pump

Thanx Andy ; I find it sad that Airtex is apparently no longer the top quality it once was . Many moons ago I posted the Airtex part number for the dual action 235 / 261 pump .
