    Will a 383 bolt up to a 700r tran.

My best SWAG would be fuel economy, but they offered many other engine/ transmission combos depending on what you intended on doing with the truck

    700R Throttle Cable Bracket

Very Good Don, The transmission generates more heat with the converter not locked because the fluid in the coverter is in a rotory motion and when the TCC (torque converter clutch) locks, spining 1 to 1 with the engine it changes to a vortex motion.

It's Been Awhile I decided to upgrade the axles, wheels, tires and liftkit. There now resides under the rear of the truck a 3/4 ton, 14bolt with 410 gears. The front is a 3/4 ton 10bolt with matching 410 gear. The wheels are made by WELD and are 16.5 x 14. Tires are Super Swamper Boggers and...

Having trouble oil leak with replacement ARP Head Bolt n washers

Welcome to the forum Neil, If your after new stock head bolts, your local GM parts counter would be your best bet. Also if you didn't mind walking around, try looking in your nearest junkyard for 454. ARP bolts are far superior than GM and I would keep them. When replacing the head...

Hey guys! new here, this is my 1st post, here is my 87 4x4

Very nice truck. The GM dash pads are still available ($325) from your local dealer. By the time you pay for aftermarket with oversized shipping and handling, not to mention the quality and fit, in my opinion GM is the way to go.

    Heater Core, Non-A/C

The brass/ copper heater core can still be found at all the auto part vendors (Napa, Auto Zone, Advance), but you'll have to ask to see, open everyone they have to get lucky and find one. Most have totally gone to aluminum. I went through the same thing a couple of months ago. Most heater...

I'm not quite satisfied with the rear, it sits (looking from the rear) to the left about 1/4 " more than the right side.. I'll have to take more measurements, the bed maybe sitting to far to the left and the bumper is correct. The front went on and looks perfect. Also installed the...
