After fighting the idea of getting rid of the 8 lugs, I've decided to swap in a 1/2 ton front end in my "51" 3/4 ton truck. I've located a 5 lug truck 12 bolt for the rear. My question is which front end to use. Looking in the archives it seems to me that any 47-54 should work, the only thing I saw was that the 55-59 wont. Is this correct? Thanks, Ron
Something to consider~ Any axle/tie rod/drag link/pitman arm will work. I'm glad I went with a 54, because I like the drag link on a 54 better than the one that was on my 52. (just my 3 cents) I think you will like a few more things about this swap other than no more 8 lug, ugly hub stuff.
