Hi Folks, I'm installing a new wiring harness from Classiic Parts into my 47 1/2 ton. So far its been simple and easy. I'm confused about the light terminals to wire connections. There are 2 terminals in the Headlight Relay, "Tail light' and "Stop light" (2 fuses). But! My harness specs 5, Tail, Stop, Park, HighBeam, LowBeam. Are they joined together? or Do i need more fuses? Thanks, Ernie
When I did my harness I ran tail and stop wires in to the fuses then out to tail and stop lights, and ran the headlight wires to the junction blocks on inner fenders. Hope this helps. John
Welcome to the nuthouse Ernie. 1947 through 49 trucks used 5 fuses: upper beam, lower beam, parking lamps, taillight and stop lamps. In 1950, they changed to a 2 fuse setup where only the tail and stop light circuit was protected. If you've got a 1947 truck shop manual, it has a wiring diagram and description of the fuse box. If you don't here's a link to an online version. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1947truck/47ctsm1201.htm Hope this helps. Ken
5 circuit fuse box for a Classic Parts wire harness I have your fuse box. It is 5 circuits from a 1947 chevy pickup. I just sold the same 5 circuit box from a 1948 pickup. If you are interested, give me a return email and we can talk. Thanks, Jerry
