I'd like to find out or get an idea what a 1947 model 3100, five window pickup sold for new. Anyone know where I can find that info.
Hm , This was long before the window stickers were required so there might not have been a set list price . Maybe Kelly Blue Book vintage can tell you the dealer's price then figure the markup from there... I dunno .
NADA shows the original MSRP. Around $1050 for the 47 model year. But check it out yourself. http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-22-0-5003-887-965-50555&l=1&w=22&p=1&f=5005&c=10 Neat that they show that... Andy
Thanks Andy!!! If any of you checked out this site, you have been dreading this post. 3/4 Chevy VS 3/4 G... The G is worth 1,100.00 more!!!! $1,100.00 more!!! Thanks Andy! I can go to bed _very_ happy!
Zig, I looked at the 48 Chev 3/4 and the 48 GMC 3/4 and I saw $15.00 diff. Evne that much more for a GMC is hard for me to understand. It must have been for the tow bar on the front. Oh no, wait a minute, that is the grille. Of course, I was looking at the initial value. You must have been looking at current value. Still hard to imagine. Gater
My bad... Average Retail of a 3/4 G = 10,600. Average retail of a 3/4 Chevy = 9,050. That's actually a difference of $1,550!!! It's worse than we thought! I need to find the person who figured these prices up and have a drink with him or her. My bet is they're still drunk!
By the way~ Unless you own a GMC, don't even THINK of looking at the "Average Retail" price comparison between 1/2 tons. (G vs Chevy) Ouch! I'm all though!
Nothing new... I just wanted to bring this thread back to the top. Ken~ OH KEN~ Where ARE you???? Must be one heck of a fishing trip!
