1948 "Pic-up Poncho"

I found a frame for a "Pic-up Poncho" in an old building that I working on and was wondering if anyone has seen one of these before?
It's like a removable convertable top for the bed.
I found a 1948 dealer options sheet for Dodge trucks but it looks like it would fit others.
The Dodge info states that i would fit a 78 1/8 inch bed. Is that around the size of the bed of the Chevy/GMC?
