what is the correct paint color to be painted underneath the hood? the body color or some kinda black? ALso how about color of bumper brakcets front and rear.My rear brackets appear to have been body color maybe since exposed and visible and the front ones look black Thanks in advance for the reply Ken
Got a pen and paper? Here you go~ The colors are CHIEFS RED with GOLD (yellow) and WHITE! GO CHIEFS!!!!!!! (That thing in front of my spare tire -in my avatar- is my KC Arrowhead. (In case you're wondering what a die-hard KC fan I might be!)
Underside of hood and firewall are body color . Inner fenderwells are black , originally a fairly shiny black but most seem to like a satiny finish . Bumper brackets are gloss black, they won't be glossy long though . Taking the time to paint just the parts and not the harness , fastenes etc. will make for a lot of contreast and enrich the underhood appeal of your old truck.... I'm pretty sure Bob Adler has all this typ of details in minute explination in his books or maybe on his website (if he has one) .
Thanks Nate my old rear brakcets are painted same as body is it possbile that since they are exposed and visible they are same as body Take care Ken
Remember : rear bumpers were an added option back in the day . If you like them body color , use that .
