Hi i have a question about the frt fender brace that goes from the radiator support to the outside of the fender. I am putting my 51 back together and the right side was missing. I found a used one he said it fit 47 - 53 but the bolt holes do not match up they are off about 1 inch or so Is 51 different ? Anyone have any ideas ????? THANKS
Tallen, according to the Master Parts Catalog for Chevrolet (1929-1954), the front fender supports are the same for 1947 through 1954 trucks. Group # 8.141, part # 3684460 for the right front fender support. Sounds like some persuasion is in order. Ken
The 1.5 & 2 ton trucks used a bracket that was larger than than the 1/2 , 3/4 & 1 ton trucks. Sounds like you have brace for a big truck.
thanks so much for the info the problem is with the left side does it say they are all the same for the left too also i am wondering if what he sent me is a gmc part thanks again for the help
Left side is the same for 47-54 part# 3684459. The supports are mirror images of themselves left vs right. Compare the two and see if the are basically the same dimensions. I agree with deadzone that what you might have is a fender support for the big boys!
