Has anyone come across any instructions on how to repair a Chevy Speedometer gauge for a chevy truck (from 1953)?

The original needle in the gauge has been broken for years. I can get the Glass/Bezel off, but the needle wont easily slide out. I don't want to force it, so wondering what the magic might be?

    Best,

Those suckers are stuck on pretty good sometimes. I use TWO screwdrivers and pry up equally so as not to bend the shaft. When it lets loose it often flies several feet up into the air. I also have a screwdriver bent at an angle, ground thin, and notched to fit in under the needle which works every time but has snapped off the shaft before.

Thanks good to know. I figured I might need to use a little extra elbow grease.
