1954 GMC 248 Engine Color

    Does anyone know the correct color. It seems much easier to find information on Chevy than GMC. HELP!

    GMC goes with a "cool" color for their blocks. Not the hohum _grey_ that Chevy uses.:rolleyes:

    I went to the recommended site and they said that the GM paint code was 514. When I contacted a local auto paint supply store, they told me that the GM 514 code was a brown color. Searching on the internet, I have been unable to find a color code chip for that GM color as another paint store had suggested.

    Duplicolor makes a rattle can color very close to the original, 1607. Or Jim Carter has Quarts of the GMC orange, www.oldchevytrucks.biz Page 140. Chris
