I picked up a nice 4400 Dump truck for around the farm. A minor tune up, and new brake lines, and we have her driving and stopping.

I have a question though, the PTO to the dump SEEMS to work, but the driveshaft bangs around violently. It seems like an odd design to me, a short driveshaft suspended in mid air by 2 U joints. Am I missing any parts in this set up? The driveshaft off the motor just passes thru a piece of pipe bolted to a cross member. Should there be a bearing in there?

Thank you so much for the help! Trying to get it back to work where it belongs!

That shaft HAS to have some type of center hanger bearing.

Any idea what that would look like? The drive shaft is quite large
