Motor
Can you tell me what the Date codes are on the block and head? On the block it is just behind but above the starter. It will start with a letter A thru L followed by 3 digits. I am looking for a true 59 motor so it will end in a 8 or 9. Typically a motor for a 59 started with a J,K or L ?nd end in an 8 meaning it was cast in October, November or December of 1958. The next two digits are the day and the last digit is the year. Or it will be an A, B or C meaning January, February or March and end in 9 meaning 1959. The head date code is under there the valve cover and should be within a few days of the block casting. I have a complete motor out of a 58 but I really want the correct motor for my 59. Let me know what you and I am willing to pay the $750 for the correct motor.
