1960 Rear End

I have a 1960 with what i beleive is the stock rear end. What is the gear ratio for that year?

3.90 to 1 was standard issue, 3.38 was optional. This is assuming we are talking about a half ton truck here. 3/4 and one tons had different ratios.

Ok, thats what i thought. Thank you very much.
Now... any suggestions for a posi to swap in? preferrably one that could handle around 500 hp no problem.

You might want to start at Randy's, www.ring-pinion.com They should be able to tell you what is available for your existing rear end. Or you could swap a later 12 bolt rear end in, if you want to do a little welding and fabbing.
