Trying to get the "61" running after a few years of setting.
When it runs rough the gas guage jumps all over then settled down
when it smooths out, but now went to full and does not move.
    Any thoughts.
I feel its a bad ground somewhere, but where do I start looking?
    Thanks

    Yes, check the ground.

Given that the truck has sat for a few years, it is most likely the sender itself though. There is a small wire that extends down to the float that will rust out and break.

I also own a 61, It sounds like your fuel float may be sticking or hanging up against the tank, could be a bad ground too. also if the truck seems to be running rough then staitening out, check the carb, it may need rebuilt....unless you've changed it to a newer setup.
