1961 Suburban Hood

Hey folks,

First post, hope I'm not in the wrong spot with a Burb in the truck fourm. I have a simple question and I'm pretty sure that I know the answer. However you all are the experts.

I'm in the process of picking up a 61 Suburban and the hood is not correct from what I have witnessed on the web. it's got the standard 65 type hood not the one with the two large scoops out front. I don't know the proper name. Did the 61 ever come with the older style hood like on the 62-65 trucks? Is there any way to find out if it was optioned that way. I know that during model year change over it might be possible...

I doubt it. More than likely someone swapped a later hood onto it.
