1962 4x4 Rear Bumper

Hello, Just wanted to know if the rear bumper on a 1962 4x4 was standard equipment. My local PA inspection station seems to believe that I need one to pass, I'm not so sure and I like the Truck without it, any help would be greatly appreciated. THANX

I had to have a bumper for my 65 but after the inspection I took it off

Way back in '65, when my Dad ordered his new Chevy 1/2T long bed rear bumpers were an extra cost option, along with suff like deluxe heaters, right side rear-view mirrors, larger tires, etc, etc, etc.... Might try finding a "sales brochure" for your year and see what's listed as optional equipment.
