Hi, does anyone know it there is any restoration guides availiable for these trucks? I am trying to restore a '65 C20 "Camper Special" and would like to find a guide to help with paint colors and other original information. I would also like to find out what designates a "Camper Special" and what sets this apart from the other models. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -Samo
RE: 1965 Restoration Books/Informat I'm not sure on the 65 but on 67-72 C-10's the bed was longer than the lwb trucks. The bed of the truck looked like a 6 inch or so strip was added to the bed just behind the cab. I also imagine that it has a beefed up suspension. As far a books you need, I would recommend the 1963 shop manual and the 65 supplement. The 63 book covers 63-66 and the supplment covers your year and yes you need both. The wiring diagrams alone saved my butt quite a few times. They have tons of good info. Chevy Duty sells a couple diffrent books that will help with matching vin numbers to paint. Welcome to the group. I have gotten alot of good advice and ideas since I bought my truck. There are a few discussion group die hards that can usually steer you in the right direction.
