    Hello George,

    Welcome to the forum.

After considering the options for front disk brakes and power steering, ( Kit,,, crossmember swap,,, etc ) , I decided on a kit. Then,, which kit?

Did the homework and decided on Early Classic Ent. Reason; American made components, NO tie rod end swapping, all components such as ball joints tie rod ends etc, are year correct, and lastly, their customer service was beyond anything I'd experienced before. Advice is both friendly and knowledgable.

Used their 6 bolt 12 inch rotors with drop spindles and springs, added their drop sway bar a year later.

For power steering there is ONLY one starting point. The REZ Engineering adapter to mount the 605 power steering box to the frame. I got the 3-turn-lock-to-lock steering box from Mullins' Steering Gears, ( now part of Borgensen ), and added a tilt column. I used Borgensen U-joint at the steering box, DD shaft, and Borgensen Steering Dampener at the column. ( no rag-joint )

The truck has been on the road for over 4 years with zero problems, drives like a dream, and can still be used as a truck.

I would advise that you do a front end rebuild NOW before the swap. Ball joints and control arm bushings at a minimum.

What Dval Is Saying Above Is Exactly Right. I Did Nearly The Exact Same As Dennis On My 66 C10. I Also Did The 4/6 Drop Kit From Early Classics. Listen To Dennis, He Knows What Hes Talking About. If You Dont Want To Change Out Your Steering Column And Go With A New Steering Gear, You Can Get A Pump And Gear With Hoses From A Wrecking Yard. Make Sure Its All From The Same Truck. The Rez Kit (which You Can Buy Here At Classic Parts) Will Tell You What Years Will Work, And Only Those Years Will Work!! You Can Pick Up A Steering Gear And Pump Rebuild Kit Very Cheap At Your Local Parts Store And Its Very Easy To Rebuild Them, If You Do That It Will The Same As New. Make Sure You Have A Welder And 1" Drill Bit Handy Because You Have To Shorten The Steering Column. Its A Easy Job, Couple Hours At Tops And Your Done. Heres The Instructions.
