Hey, I am wanting to put a new custom billet grill on my 70 chevy and I can only find the outer part of a grill meant for 71-72 year trucks. I was wondering if this outer part of the grill will work or if I can just cut the center part of the grill I have now so the inner billet grill will fit. Thanks for any advice.

The grill for a 71-72 is different. The front of the fenders and hood have been slightly altered. So you would have to just cut out the center of your grill.

    Billet grill

You can put the billet grill designed for the 71-72 Chevrolet truck ( not GMC) with a 71-72 outer grill onto a 69-70 front end. I'm not sure if you can just cut away the billet horizontal rods to fit the 69-70 outer grill. Even if that works, you have the issue of relocating your parklamps form the center of the grill. Also there is minimal room to actuate the hood release with a billet grill. I have seen trucks that have used a cantilever device mounted behind the front bumper.
