I just installed the entire front suspension from a 1975 1/2 Ton pickup with no problems???????? The only thing that isn't straight forward about the swap is the placement of the idler arm onto the 66 frame. I now have power steering, disc brakes, and a 1 1/4" sway bar from the same truck.
If you need any advice, let me know

I love some help, I have a 64 shorty step and would like to do the same thing. I have a choice of two free frontends one is the frontend of a 73 1/2 ton or i have complete 80 3/4 ton truck w/ 454 already in it. And this is the end result i would like for my shorty w/ new front end, power steering, tilt and my LS6 454cu. I guess my question is; Should i use the newer heavier frontend; even thow it is a 3/4 ton... and change to 1/2 ton brakes, lug conversion? Cause i will probably use the colum out of this truck any whey. Is it easier to use the same truck for everything or little here, little there.
    Thanks,
