1979 PickUp Auto Trans Dip Stick ??

Just bought a 1979 Chevy 1/2 ton, 6 cylinder pickup..
The automatic transmission dipstick has been replaced...
I am trying to find out what the length of the original would have been...
I think this one is not registering properly...

Just found out...by crawling underneath...that it is a 350 Turbo transmission...
