Hello. As you can probably tell I am new here. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
I have a 1984 GMC 4x4.:D The front end just seems so loose. Its fine as you travel but turning and general steering is sloppy. Any suggestions? Some say ball joints and another said check the Idler arm. It would be rather exspensive to replace the whole front end at once so I would need to do it a little at a time. Ant recommendations as to replace first?
    Thanks and God Bless

Yes all that stuff. Go ahead and buy it a little at a time and when you have all the parts do it in one shot. Replace upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, upper and lower control arm bushings. It is quite a few pieces but it is well worth it. If you replace all these parts and it is still sloppy it might be in the steering box. This would also be a good time to replace the u-joints on the axle shafts.

If you must break it down into sections do control arm bushings along with ball joints. And then tie rods, pitman arm and idler arm together.
