The first Saturday night "Krogers" old car show and shine is tomorrow, Saturday Mar 10 in the Krogers parking lot on the corner of Spring-Cypress road and Champion Forest drive in zip code 77379. The last show last year (November 18th) had 427 cars/trucks show up. Activity starts around 6 PM, peaks at 8 and is pretty much over by 10.

I won't be able to show up for a few weeks because I am skiing with my daughter's family this weekend and next (DARN!!!!).

Pictures of the November 18 show can be found at:

    I've already booked my flight.....

Man those are some cool cars out there. My fave out of all of them is the 70 camaro though. I think I have a soft spot in my heart for those since I'm wanting one pretty badly. I also like the 60 Impala. Don't worry Ken I'm all up for hot rodding or street rodding anything, but mine will be all stock except for the wheels. Some things you just have to leave alone. I really like the 57 wagon with the surf board on top. Now thats what I call a cool looking car. Dad would really like that one. That's definately his style. thanks for sharing your photos.

They left out some prime rides!

Number 1, where is Bill Hanlon's ride? 600 plus pics, and no GMC TF PU? Not right! Number 2, where is the stock '54 AD that i schooled you on in Sept? You know the one. Dark blue, all original.

Quit picking on me Ken. That truck has been my only ride (except when SWMBO lets me drive hers) since March of 1990.

By the way, just got off the mountain skiing with both my grandaughters. Megan is 8 years old and has almost no muscle control because of Cerebral Palsy. The Breckinridge Outdoor Education Center people run an adaptive skier program here at Keystone that lets Megan boogie through the trees, barrel down the blues and spray her grand dad with snow while doing hockey stops.

Here she is coming out of the trees.

So Bill, does your truck have the Pontiac based engine? A friend of mine who is BIG into old vehicles came up to me last year and asked me to come look at a GMC a few rows over. He says "I can't figure out the engine he has in that thing" It did me good to answer his question.:D

The GMC/Pontiac V-8. From 1955 through 1959 small (less than 2 ton) GMC trucks with gasoline V8s were equipped with Pontiac V8s. In 55, 56 and 57 they were almost identical (bigger dishes in pistons for even lower compression ratios and Bendix/Stromberg carbs) to same year Pontiacs. In 58 they used the same block as Pontiac, but only bored it to 3.875" giving a 336.1 cubic inch engine instead of Pontiac's 370. In 59 they again used the same block as Pontiac, but only bored it to 3.78" giving 336.9 cubic inches instead of Pontiac's 389. Cranks, heads, rods, were the same as same year Pontiacs.

    Mine is a '57 Pontiac 347 V8 with dual-range (4 speed) Hydra-Matic.
