3 speed to 4 speed tranny swap

I have a 65 with a 250 and a 3 speed. I would like to drop a 4 speed with a granny in it, I recently found a 4 speed at the wreckers bolted up to a 292. I would like to know if my bell housing is the same bolt pattern. Also, I would like to know what is involved in the switch. Thanks

the bellhousing should bolt up to it fine. the only differences would be number of splines, 10 or 21, and the lenght of the block, aparently from an inline 6 to a V8 changed in 1980, and the block is shorter for V8's, I'm having that issue now with one of my trucks. Let me know what you find out
