First of all, I am not a mechanic. I owned a 66 chevy as a kid and just recently purchase another one. I have a 66 C10 Feetside with a 250 6 cyl. and a 3 speed on the column. The literature I have indicates the tranny is Syncro-mesh which should allow for shifting to first gear under 20 mph. Mine will not do that. I have to be stopped to shift to 1st gear. I don't remember that to be the case with my first Chevy. Is there something wrong with my tranny? The vehicle is in excellent condition, solid, and runs well. Does anyone have any thoughts?
