4 Barrel Carb on 261 ci 6 Cyl

I have a 1950 1/2 ton chevy pick-up. I am having rebuilt and installed a 1959 261 ci 6 cyl...can I install a 4 barrel carb on it and get imporved perfopprmance, milage any other benefits...?

What size of carb were you wanting to put on there?If you stay small then it would work allright.Try to stay around 450 to 600 cfms.

Craig....Holly suggested a 390 cfm...is that a small enough\workable 4 bbl. carb.?

The 390 cfm would be a good carb for your engine.Its the perfect size for what you need.
