Hey I'm wondering if there are any resources for 4x4? Seems like most of the sites and catalogs I see deal mainly with 2wds. I have a 63 4x4 that has kept the parts guys around here going crazy. Any info would be appreciated. Troy
Check out this NAPCO site. Although NAPCO conversions were primarily pre '59 I'm sure these guys might be able to steer you in the right direction. jeffrey http://www.mawhobbi.com/napco/index.htm
You need axle parts or suspension parts. You may have Dana axles, if so find you local Spicer dealer, for suspension try (sorry chevy duty) www.lmctruck.com.
The 60-66 4x4's do seem to get lost in the shuffle. The toughest thing for me to find was info on the transfer case. I found a few pages of the repair manual at www.zianet.com/desertskies/truck.htm The pages are .pdf files so you'll need Acrobat Reader to view them. Acrobat is a free download. It's three pages; an exploded view of the transfer case, a disassembly page and, adjustment procedures. The only place I've found parts for the 221 are at www.drivetrain.com. they even have rebuild kits for the 221. Their shop is in Las Vegas, NV.
I understand your troubles!!!!!! It took 6 weeks for the brake shop to do the brakes on my truck... a brake hose from a 1 ton chevy van was the closest I could get for that part..... When I bought my truck it already had a NP205 held up with a block of 4x4 wood between the rails.... The parts are out there but you just have to look and ask..... 1963 Chevy 4x4 1/2 ton 350/400/NP205/3.73 33X12.5X15 Fun Country
I know there are a lot of forums like this one that offer a lot of help. ColoradoK5 is a website that mainly focuses on off-roading and restoring trucks. That's how i got sent here to look for radios. Get a name (it's free) and make a post. I'm sure a majority of people on there would be able to help. Matt x(
