Hi, Does anyone have any information on the manufacturer and model number of the original dump unit used on my 51? Any information will help. You can e-mail me at mybuddyboy52@yahoo.com thank you. Gerry Lee

Without seeing detailed pictures of the body & lift set up on your truck it is hard to tell because there were many companies that built dump bodies back then....

    Here are just a few...

    Anthony hydraulics
    Galion
    Heil
    Perfection
    GarWood
    St Paul
    National
    A Cresci
    Marion
    Converto
    Hercules

My guess would be "National Lift Co. " as they have a step side lift pictured in their original sales pitch...

    dump bed

I have often wondered about how one would do this. The advert says that the power is from a "hydro clutch" pump driven off the fan belt, but I always thought that a PTO-driven pump from an SM-420 would have been used. Anybody ever see a 1/2 ton with a dump bed?

    51 dump

My truck has a P.T.O and the reservoir is part of the frame for the dump unit. It totally disassembled now but will send pictures latter, soon as I learn how. Gerry
