HI . Anyone have any idea how to adjust the front fenders on on 51 3100 ? I took mine apart and put new inners fenders on from classic truck but the drivers side is in about 1/4 or a 1/2 inch and the hood hits it. I did not remove the hood either the only way i can see is to put shims between the radiator support and inner fender to push the fender out a little bit any ideas THANKS TOM
Are the brace rods from the firewall to the inner fender in place? If so, take them loose, loosen all the other bolts and set the desired gaps. With the gaps set where you want them measure all the bolt together areas like the fender to core support, ditto on the fender brace to core support. Don't use a stack of shims but once the gap is measured cut custom ones the correct thickness and after grinding to fit without hanging out paint to match the surrounding area and it will be not be noticable at all. Once the bolt together panels are near where you want them you can use the firewall to fender brace rods to fine tune. Here's how an AD hood SHOULD fit.
