54 bed on a 52

    Okay I have a question and hoping U all hv the answer. I have a 1954 1/2 ton truck bed I wanna put on my ole 52 can anyone tell me if this is going to be an issue? Is there anything I need to do to make the change?

    I have a 54 chevy pickup an put a 1950 bed on, same difference. First you need the newer bed blocks to put the old bed at the right height, then the only other thing you need to do is change your splash aprons between the running boards and the bed. The 54 aprons are shorter than the older bed. Do those 2 things an you will be golden. :D

    Wow, guess it's easier to put a 47-53 bed on a 54 frame than the other way around. Mine was a easy fix. :rolleyes:

    Thanks for the link. I looked it over and now gonna pass the info along to a friend of mine and see if this is something we are going to tackle. I think I may be rebuilding the ole 52 bed. It is in such bad shape and the 54 bed was given to me and is in pretty good shape.
