'57 235 road-draft tube

    IT IS LEAKING OIL WEAR IT ENTERS THE ENGINE. WHAT DOES THIS INDICATE?THE MANUAL SAYS IT NEEDS PEROIDIC CLEANING. HOW IS IT EASILY REMOVED AND REPLACED. THANKS.

    The draft tube is held by one bolt. Mine took a few taps with a wooden mallet and a little bit of wiggling to break it free and remove it.

    Thanks for being so quick. The one bolt I believe is the one through the bracket to the block. The tube just slides into its hole and the bracket and bolt secure it. Is that correck. Thanks for your help.

    Yes, after you remove the bolt from the bracket the only thing that will be holding the tube in place is 50 years of crud and rust. Tap it from all different directions and it will loosen up enough to work it out.
