I have the CPP firewall mount power brake kit on my 57,3100. Has anyone felt they needed a return spring for the brake pedal, and if one was installed, how did you do it. My pedal needs to return about 1/4". I am having front brake drag. It's not from air,booster adjustment,calipers,etc.
Brake Pedal Spring You ALWAYS need a brake pedal return spring as the clevis pin must not touch the master cylinder unless you're actively braking . Just hook a long pull typ spring , just strong enough to return the brake pedal to it's stop with a light thump .
Agreed, you need a return spring, besides not properly returning the pedal to the top position, the brake lights may stay on. The switch is set so that the slightest touch turns on the brake lights. If the pedal doesn't stop with a light thump, bumps in the road etc, will make the brake lights come on.
