    Hello,
Does anyone know the trick to removing the ignition switch from the dash on
a '58 Apache? I loosened the ring but it won't come off. Thanks.

If I remember right theres a small hole in the face next to where the key goes in , I allways used a paper clip to stick in there The key need to be turned to where the whole align,s with a spring loaded button Inside , Once pushed in the Whole key & tumbler will come out .

Its been awhile since I,ve had to remove one though. :D . Bob

If you are just trying to get the ignition switch off of the dash, that ring comes off and the switch assy comes out
from behind, if the ring just turns then the threads are stripped and creates a whole new problem!I did have this happen to me as the ring was cross threaded and I ended up taking a dremal tool with a cut off wheel and cutting the ring in half to get the switch out of the dash
    Good Luck!Allen
