Hey how's it going? A 6.2 Diesel, huh? I have a 60 chevy and put a 454 in it, I'm still in the process of building my truck, but the engine and tranny are in! As far as your measurements go, it's kind of hard to explain. I've done a lot of custom things to trucks, and have never seen a 6.2 be put into an older truck. I'll try to give as much info as possible though.

leave your cab on the frame, every thing should be stripped from the front end (except the front suspension). This just makes it all easier. Also make sure the old engine and tranny mounts and cross members are removed.

Bolt the engine and tranny together, try and see if the engine mounts from the 6.2 L fit your frame, they may or may not. If so, then you're in luck, if not you'll have to custom make the towers. Support the tranny with a jack. Place the engine in close to the fire wall, but also making sure you have enough room for any other custom applications.

Bolt the radiator support to the frame. You'll have to make sure you have a 3 or 4 core radiator that'll take place of the old one, (this way you have no over heating problems). With the radiator in place make sure you have at least an inch between the fan and radiator. If it's really tight, you may have to run short pulley's with an electric fan.

Since you're puting a custom engine and tranny in, make sure the engine and tranny tilt at negative 2 degrees.

Drill your holes in the frame, and bolts it all down. As far as a tranny crossmember goes, you should be able to run a sheet of steel about 4 X 26 inches (i think), and 3/8 inch thick, that runs on your four frame rails by your torsion bar cross member.

This all probably sound confusing, if you have any questions e-mail me at: superman0421@hotmail.com
    I hope this helps.
