would like to know if I can swap my 61 front end out with 71 or 72. what modifications would it take, will it bolt straight up,the components needed. I have the torsion bars and would like to get rid of them. just the lower ball joints for the 61 are $100.00 bucks a piece, screw that! would rather spend the money on a better front end if possible....any info would be great

Yes there is a way, I put a 79 chevy front end from a 2 wheel drive blazer under my short step bolted right up, I had to drill 2 extra holes in the frame to mount it. but that was after it was bolted in, and I had to drill to more holls to mount the ideler arm. You will need to change the master cylinder and use a proportoning valve. I used the master, and valve from the doner vehicle. I now have disk brakes, springs, and 5 lugs. I put a rear axle from a 72 under it to get 5 lugs and a better gas gear. Not to mention chepper parts, but that is a harder job the trail arm pads need to be relocated. ( cut off and rewelded )
