What , the big internal drum on the back of the tranny ? . IIRC , a 3/4 Tonner in 1962 had the same Bendix brakes as '51 ~ '67 . Bugger all ~ it's too bloody HOT here ! I brought my coveralls as the old truck junkyard is only 3 miles away but it's been 107* out and I'm not 25 and skinny anymore...... I guess no digging for treasure this trip . mores the pity as there's a '55 GMC Task Force Fire Truck there and I was going to see what engine it has~ I know it's a Long Motor , heavy duty with factory fitted PCV etc. , maybe the hard to find 302 C.I.D.......OOoooooo
cool, thanks. btw, 107 is tolerable with a big hat and lots of water! hope you got to see the fire truck!! jon
Naw , it went up to 117* so I gave up ~ there's not a single chair nor bed comfortable enough to get any sleep in so I'm loosing ground rest - wise , I'm exhausted . yesterday SMBO , her curvacious girlfreind and I , all went to lunch @ the Indian Casino nearby and some of the old crusty local men apperently thought I'm a Giggalo , out for a stroll with my two lovelies... I found several places I could actually sit not in a game or in front of a machine (unusual in Casinos) so I did so with my book and got some snooze time in .
Well ; Between the heat (102* ~ 117*) , the crappy marshmellow bed , the flies ,(thousands of blue ottle flies here) the pain from my pinched spine , I don't sleep so much as I occasionally pass out from total exhaustion... So far I've knocked out three books since friday , not bad considering I'm still taking SWMBO to the market , herding the Foster boys lugging crap 'round and I'm still doing my tech writing We're going back home to-morrow , I figure i'll possibly get one day of sleep in as soon as I hit a decent (read hard) bed . I surely hope so anyway !
